Submissions made to the Inspector of the Local Plan
Following the submission of the Local Plan 2020-2040 by WCC, the Government appointed Inspector R Barrett MRTPI IHBC to hold an independent examination of the Winchester District Local Plan. The Inspectors' task was to consider the soundness of the submitted Plan and whether it has been prepared in accordance with the legal and procedural requirements.
The Inspector ran a highly organised review and subsequent six week process of re-examination, raising specific questions that needed to be addressed. Only responses to those specific questions could be and were considered.
Sport Winchester made submissions on the three key questions (related to Sporting matters) raised by the Inspector as shown below. The submissions made at the review meetings were made verbally, but relate to the written submissions made. The three questions related to the policy documents well designed spaces to live, for assessing and managing open spaces and sport, and the potential redevelopment of the River Park leisure centre site.
