A vision of a community sport & cultural hub at River Park

Sport Winchester and architect partners, www.radleyhousepartnership.co.uk have launched this indicative impression of an aspirational community sporting hub facility on the site of the old River Park leisure centre, which could provide space for a range of sporting and recreational activities in the heart of our beautiful city.

The “sporting hub” concept for Winchester could take a first step with the redevelopment of the River Park site, alongside existing rugby, cricket, football, tennis, bowls, canoe club and Winchester Park Run.

Sport Winchester believes that we must work, within our council’s local plan, to ensure that the future of our city balances financial prosperity with the benefits provided by plentiful green space and facilities for staying physically and mentally well, through sport and exercise!

The design for this indoor community sporting hub represents the identified needs of clubs and organisations in the city. You can read more about this proposal and some of the details behind it by downloading the pdf here:-
